Prepared for inspection. Ready for what happens next.
End-of-tenancy cleaning for London properties being prepared for check-out, key return, landlord or agent inspection, and the next tenancy.
A handover clean has a different job to do.
An end-of-tenancy clean is preparation for a documented handover. The property may be compared room by room with its check-in inventory, so the brief must cover the areas included in that record—not only the surfaces visible at first glance.
Check-out approaching
Book after belongings are removed and before the check-out appointment wherever possible. A clear access window lets the team reach cupboard interiors, skirtings, floors and fittings without the move competing with the clean.
Inspection or inventory
An inventory clerk or agent may compare cleanliness and condition with the check-in report and photographs. Cleaning, fair wear, damage, missing items and maintenance are recorded as different issues.
Next tenancy
The clean also needs to leave a credible starting point for the next occupant, not just close out the previous tenancy.
Scope the property, then clean to the brief.
Bedroom count is only a starting point. Furnishings, bathrooms, kitchen grease, oven and appliance interiors, limescale, carpets, occupancy and access can materially change the labour and equipment required.
The details that change the job.
A two-bedroom flat in good condition is not the same job as one with heavy kitchen build-up, several bathrooms or furniture remaining. Send current photos, the inventory or agent requirements if available, and confirm exactly what must be included.
Think beyond the obvious surfaces.
Once belongings are removed, overlooked details become prominent: grease at hob edges, limescale around taps and screens, dust on frames and skirtings, marks around switches, residue on glass, cupboard interiors and appliance seals.
A structured cleaning brief reduces avoidable cleaning findings, but it cannot determine a deposit outcome. Any deduction should be considered against the tenancy agreement, check-in and check-out evidence, fair wear and the property’s recorded condition.

Is this the right service if I am moving into the property?
Usually no. If the property is being prepared for your arrival rather than a tenancy check-out, start with move-in cleaning.
Do you need the property to be empty?
A vacant property gives the best access. If furniture or belongings remain, tell us beforehand: blocked surfaces, filled cupboards and rooms still being moved out of can limit what can be completed within the agreed scope.
Is oven or carpet cleaning automatically included?
Only if they are listed in the quote. Confirm oven and appliance interiors, carpet cleaning, furnished areas and any agent-specific requirements before booking so the scope and invoice match the handover brief.
What if I am not sure how much cleaning the property needs?
Send current photos or a short video with the property details. That gives us a better starting point than choosing a package blindly.
The finish an inspection notices.
Clean kitchens, sanitary fittings and the overlooked details all contribute to a property that feels fully prepared for handover.
